The Color of 2011

Turquoise was the color of 2010, but it’s time to leave that behind. With all the colors I told you about for 2011 in my last article, Pantone has chosen which color will be THE color of 2011- Honeysuckle!

According to Pantone,

“In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues… Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage, and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life.”

It’s the same idea with music, actually. In times of stress, record labels don’t release ballads or crooning love songs and choose instead the up tempo, catchy songs. That is of course why we have so many good dance songs lately. But, I digress. Think of Honeysickle as your favorite dance tune and splash it on! Wear it, paint it, embrace it. With this honor given to the beautiful color, I decided to give a little extra design inspiration.
