What’s the first thing you notice when you walk into a bedroom? It’s probably not the TV or the impressive collection of shoes. The bed (the piece that gives the room its name go figure!) is the focus and usually the largest element in the boudoir. So why is the headboard a mass-manufactured piece of wood that doesn’t make a statement? To make your room a place you want to relax and reflective of your personality, start with the headboard (even though I’m a sucker for drapes too).

Haute Hallow’s Eve
If you know me, you know that Fall is my most favorite time of year. How can you not love bonfires, pumpkin pie, Halloween, and Thanksgiving? The cool weather tops off all the wonderful Fall festivities. My birthday being close to Halloween has always made for a ready-made party theme. Now that I’m older, I want my taste in Fall decor to reflect my self-acclaimed sophistication. I’ve compiled images to inspire your haute Halloween.

Dream in Color
Color is the single most important design element in creating spaces that reflect mood and style. Color surrounds us and defines our world.
Since 1963, Pantone Color Institute has devised color palettes for forecasting the shades of the season, often offering fashion and interior designers a creative baseline for their new projects.
“Trend” colors forecasted by Pantone are great when used as accents and not for larger items, such as furniture and wallpaper patterns.
I wonder if any element of interior design is more personal than color? Nothing can more quickly reveal aspect of personality and character than the choice – or absence – of color. – Van Day Truex
